This guide will kick off by focusing on what to buy as a beginner, first covering the basics and then, as you progress, on how to extend into more advanced supplies and materials. There are some essentials and lots of interesting niche products to consider as you experiment, develop, and refine your personal approach and style.

It is often said that “The Hobby” has three parts: Painting, Playing, and Lore. While the main focus of this blog is to help you find the right tools for painting, you’ll also find links to other great resources, such as YouTube channels focused on painting techniques, game strategy, and the 40k universe. These are great for learning and even better for running in the background as you paint your own models!
